Handmade Hong Kong Sunday Market

November 25 and December 9, 2018

I’ll have a stall, selling my card decks at the “Handmade Hong Kong” Sunday market in Discovery Bay Plaza, Hong Kong, on November 25 and December 9, 11am-6pm. Who do you know who’d love a deck as a gift? I’ll donate 5% from every sale to KELY Support Group. I hope to see you there.

The Powerful Possibilities 5-Day Challenge

November 30 – December 4, 2018

I’ll be hosting “The Powerful Possibilities 5-Day Challenge”, live online on Facebook, from November 30 to December 4 (well, it’ll be early the next day in some parts of the world).

It’s free, and you and your friends are invited – please spread the word.

In each short episode, we’ll be exploring one of the “What would be possible for me if I…?” questions for you to ask yourself, from my “The Playground of Possibilities” card deck. The results (if you do the homework/play, of course): you’ll learn how to let go of your old, limiting thoughts, beliefs and stories about yourself and the world, choose more resourceful ones, and take inspired action towards your goals.

Don’t worry if you can’t watch the live video at 11pm Hong Kong time each day – watch the recording and post your comments and questions later.

Will you accept the Challenge?

“Life Is a Playground of Possibilities” workshop

Dates and venues in 2019 to be confirmed.

In this public workshop/playshop (in English, for people aged 15+), I use the card deck, some meditative/mindfulness exercises, and some co-operative improv games, so that you let go of your old, limiting thoughts, beliefs and stories about yourself, choose more useful ones, see bigger possibilities for yourself, and improvise more resourceful, joyful ways of being.

I’ve presented it several times in Hong Kong, twice at the 2015 annual conference of the international Applied Improvisation Network in Montreal, Canada, and once in Darwin, Australia. Here’s what some participants have said:

  • “I don’t know what happened last night but I feel like I have had some sort of shift. I feel so calm and contented today.”
  • “Thanks for making the experience meaningful and fun. As a facilitator, you are fun, engaging and able to get your point across, without imposing your views. I enjoyed every part of the session and am now putting what I learned into practice.”
  • “Collective magic, under your careful guidance, at work! What a lovely thing to participate in!”
  • “Everyone unanimously agreed that your workshop is wonderful, playful, and so clearly facilitated from your heart.”
  • “It was exactly what my day, rather my week, rather the past few months have needed – a light and stimulating session that reinforces a recognition and appreciation of the abundance in our lives, and more importantly a subtle, natural and innate confidence to act upon it.”
  • “I attended the Playground of Possibilities workshop with Kay on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Kay introduced us to a range of practical activities based upon using her PoP card deck and improvisation games. By participating in these upbeat activities, we were able explore in a safe and supported way, how our instilled and conditioned mindsets, beliefs and stories about ourselves and the world impact on our body, our behaviour and our choices. As a high school Psychology teacher the workshop helped me to start thinking about how the cards may complement the work I do with the teens I teach to help them become more self-aware and manage their stress levels more effectively. It was a lot of fun. Thank you Kay!”

The Power of “What if…?” Coaching Questions and an Improv Mindset

Thursday June 14, 2018, in Hong Kong
I led a two-hour workshop for coaches, trainer and facilitators, presented by the Hong Kong International Coaching Community. It was an exploration of how they could use “What if?” questions and some improvisational activities with clients, AND themselves. Because the stories we tell ourselves matter, and life and work don’t come with a script.

The Conscious Festival by Green Is The New Black
Saturday April 21 – Sunday April 22, 2018, at the PMQ complex, Aberdeen Street, SoHo, Hong Kong
I led an icebreaker process at the “Unconference” on Friday April 20, and was one of the speakers (for 15 minutes) in the “MIND: Expanding Consciousness” session on Saturday morning April 21.

Horizen – Journey Inward
Saturday March 24, 2018, 8am-5pm, Hong Kong
An event presented by Balance Health here in Hong Kong. I was one of several healers and health facilitators from around the world presenting sessions – my 75-minute session gave participants a taste of using the card deck and exploring what it’s like to live as if life is a Playground of Possibilities.

LAUGH
Saturday March 17, 2018, 2pm-5pm, Hong Kong
A playful workshop presented by Cola Paclibar from GVOM (Good Vibes Only Movement). Cola is passionate about creating positive content and shifting mindsets to focus on the good things in life. She invited me to lead a warm-up activity and an improvisational game that gave participants an experience of The Playground of Possibilities.

TEDxHKPolyU

Saturday March 10, 2018, 12.30pm-6pm, Hong Kong Polytechnic University
I was one of the speakers at this TEDx event. The theme was “Unscripted”, and I spoke about how life is an improvisation game and a playground of possibilities. Here’s the video of my talk (15m 8s): “Welcome to the Playground of Improvisational Possibilities | Kay Ross | TEDxHKPolyU”

I also performed an improv set with two of my improv friends, Christopher Coleman and Namrata Bindra. For that one-off performance, we called ourselves TEDxcellent Improv. Here’s the video (16m 5s): “Unscripted Improv | TEDxcellent Improv | TEDxHKPolyU”

I’m also available for workshops and talks at companies, organisations, schools, universities, conferences…

Contact me if you’d like me to run a workshop or give a talk.
